About the Artist In 2018 guitarist Denny Ilett, a lifelong Hendrix devotee, formed the Electric Lady Big Band to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of Jimi’s 1968 masterpiece Electric Ladyland. The group then recorded and released their take on Electric Ladyland, Hendrix’s unique mix of blues, rock, funk, jazz, and psychedelia. Electric Lady Big Band interpret the music of Jimi Hendrix with power, precision, passion and deep respect serving as a reminder of the true genius of Jimi as composer and musician, a legacy he left us far beyond the popular guitar hero image.
